Architectural Concrete Overlays

Overlays are a hybrid-modified cement that have been developed by the concrete repair industry as a resurfacing product for damaged concrete. The decorative concrete industry has recognized the potential of this product and promoted its use in a decorative manner. Overlays allow structurally sound concrete to receive a decorative resurfacing that is as strong, if not stronger than the existing concrete. Today, anywhere you have standard concrete (i.e., driveways, patios, porches, walkways, pool decks, basements, etc…) you can give that boring surface a permanent decorative facelift. The decorative finishes possible with overlays are stunning! Some of the more popular options are thin stamped overlays that mimic the authentic look of stone, brick and slate, splatter texture finishes that create an elegant but useful non-slip finish, or seamless custom floor finishes where the only design limitation is your imagination.

Thin Stamped Overlays: Achieved with hybrid-polymer concrete applied at 1/4” to 3/8” thick to existing concrete substrates and imprinted with texture skins to achieve the look of authentic stone, slate, brick or tile. Unlike conventional stamped concrete there is no need to remove and replace the existing concrete therefore eliminating the hassle, mess and clean-up normally associated with stamped concrete. Thin stamped overlays are more affordable, require less application time and are easier to install than conventional stamped concrete, real stone, slate, brick or tile.

Splatter Textures & Knockdowns:

Achieved by applying hybrid-polymer concrete with a hopper-type sprayer at 1/16” to 1/8” thick to an existing concrete substrates. Splatter textures can be applied in countless color and pattern combinations to match surrounding landscape and architecture.

Skim Coat Resurfacing & Broom Finishes: Designed as a surface restoration finish, this application uses hybrid-polymer concrete typically installed 1/32” to 1/8” thick over an existing concrete substrate. Applied with a specialty squeegee, trowel and broom to restore and refinish spalled & deteriorated concrete surfaces which would otherwise need to be removed and replaced.

	Seamless Custom Flooring: Although many variation of flooring can be achieved with a wide array of our products, one of the more desired finishes uses an ultra-smooth hybrid-polymer concrete to create a “glass smooth” finish on existing concrete substrates which can then be colored with dyes or stains to add an elegant, variegated, translucent color.
